Fashion Issue 01

I get my eye for good design and aesthetic from my mom. But that eye is not just married to photography, but also extends to fashion and style. I remember when I was young I used to be really shy about loving good style. I honestly used to be too insecure to even wear what I thought looked good. I've literally bought clothes in the past and never worn them cause I didn't think I was "cool enough." But time passed and life has happened and I've finally come to a place in my life where I don't care as much what people think about what I look like or what I wear.

I've actually come to find out that I've influenced friends and people in what to wear, listen to, and eat. Friends ask for my opinion on good music, new food spots and new fashion frequently.

Shopping with friends is fun ... well at least for me. I tend to be pretty frank when It comes to what looks good. ...Just be ready If you ever take me shopping to be given an honest opinion.

Now coming to realize that people do respect my taste, I've decided to begin sharing more of what I'm currently loving, listen to, eating and what I'm wearing. I hope this inspires you in some ways!

What you can expect from me in fashion is some solid basics and outfits that don't scream "look at me." My preference is understated style that is functional, comfortable and somewhat affordable. I'm only into fast fashion for a few "trendy" items. I love to invest into key pieces that will last and stand the trend test. I'm a mix between Biker/Street and Outdoorsy. That's my style in a nutshell.

This weekend I went to a wedding in downtown Ft. Worth and probably looked more Dallas than anything. One of the things I'm loving this season though are greens. They seem to be a reoccurring color scheme and leather of course.

My Black Wax Nudie Jeans for some reason were my gateway into wearing more black pieces. I absolutely love them. Out of all my closet these jeans get the most attention. You'll be surprised by how many people stop me and want to touch the fabric because they think they are leather pants! ha. I love the texture and class that these jeans brings to my closet.

The John Varvatos jacket is probably my current favorite item I own. It's very versatile for different outfits. I can be styled up or down. Usually, the only way I can afford a JV is by buying off the sale rack or last seasons line. But seriously, investing in a few JV items (especially his shoes) is totally worth it and will be a staple in your wardrobe.

The Nisolo boots I've actually had for a couple years, but recently rediscovered them after cleaning out my closest. A perfect blend between a Chelsea boot and an oxford. Also it goes for a good cause.

I hope you guys enjoyed this. Stay tuned for weekly fashion inspiration.
